GAMMA Congress in St. Gallen – stappone Sets Smart Impulses

At the end of March, stappone successfully participated in the GAMMA Congress for the second time, held in St. Gallen, Switzerland. In recent years, instrumental movement analysis has become an integral part of clinical and sports settings – whether for diagnostics, therapy optimization, prevention, or performance enhancement. The 5th Congress of the Society for the Analysis of Human Motor Function in Clinical Applications (GAMMA) focused precisely on these topics and once again offered an exciting combination of scientific exchange and hands-on training.

Swiss Premiere

For the first time, the congress took place in Switzerland at the Eastern Switzerland Children’s Hospital in St. Gallen, where gait analysis has been successfully conducted for pediatric orthopedic and neurological cases for 15 years. Under the theme “The Added Value of Movement Analysis in Clinical and Sports Settings,” Dr. Nathalie Alexander, Head of the Motion Analysis Lab in St. Gallen, welcomed over 50 participants to the Eastern Switzerland Children’s Hospital.

Motion Analysis in the Spotlight

Key topics included the foot and ankle, measurement methods and new digital technologies. Experts in motion science, physical therapy, medicine and orthopedic technology attended presentations from leading professionals such as Prof. Dr. Kaat Desloovere (KU Leuven, Belgium), Prof. Dr. Jörg Spörri (University Hospital of Balgrist, Zurich), Dr. Harald Böhm (Orthopedic Children’s Clinic Chiemgau), Dr. Marco Götze (Children’s Hospital Central Switzerland) and Dr. Sebastian Wolf (University Hospital Heidelberg).

Tech Walk with stappone – Experience Innovation Up Close

A special highlight was the so-called “Tech Walk,” where innovative companies showcased their technologies live. stappone was present with its intelligent soles, attracting a great deal of interest with practical gait analysis demonstrations. These smart soles enable precise real-time movement analysis – mobile and user-friendly. Visitors were able to experience firsthand how modern technology contributes to improved diagnostics and therapy.

Smart Soles, Smart Future

The response to the live analyses was overwhelmingly positive and clearly showed: the use of smart wearables like those from stappone is far more than a trend of the future – it is living innovation at the service of medicine and sports.
