Intelligent Sensor Soles Meet 30 Years of Clinical Movement Analysis

At the end of November, stappone took part in the GAMMA Workshop 2025 at the Orthopaedic Hospital Speising in Vienna, one of the most important meeting points for clinical movement and gait analysis in the German-speaking region. The focus was on combining state-of-the-art sensor technology with decades of clinical expertise.

With stappone’s intelligent sensor insoles, which capture pressure distribution and movement data in real time, we demonstrated how mobile gait analysis meaningfully complements and extends clinical practice.

stappone live: Sensor-based gait analysis in real time

As part of the industry exhibition, stappone presented its innovative sensor insoles, delivering precise movement data directly from real-life motion – whether in the lab, in therapy, in sports or in everyday life.

CEO Peter Krimmer was personally on site to present the technology and deliver a keynote on the value of objective movement data for diagnostics, rehabilitation and training. His presentation highlighted how stappone bridges classical movement analysis with mobile, continuous measurements, opening new perspectives for evidence-based decision-making.

Movement analysis as an integral part of clinical practice

The GAMMA Workshop marked a special anniversary: 30 years of the Movement Analysis Laboratory at the Orthopaedic Hospital Speising.

Keynote lectures and in-depth presentations clearly demonstrated that movement analysis has long become an established part of clinical routine. The data obtained flows directly into therapeutic decisions, training concepts and treatment strategies, fully aligned with the principles of modern, data-driven medicine.

A dedicated session was reserved for early-career researchers, who presented current studies and innovative approaches, offering a glimpse into the future of movement analysis.

Hands-on workshops: Understanding and interpreting gait analysis

In four practical workshops, results from three-dimensional gait analysis were discussed in depth. The aim was to correctly interpret deviations in individual joints and understand their functional relationships.

The focus areas included:

  • pelvis and upper body
  • hip
  • knee
  • ankle, including foot modeling

Open discussions around movement analysis curves and their clinical implications highlighted the strong practical relevance of the event.

Why stappone fits perfectly into this context

The GAMMA Workshop clearly demonstrated how crucial objective movement data is for clinical decision-making. This is exactly where stappone comes in: Our intelligent sensor insoles provide complementary, real-world data alongside traditional laboratory analysis – in real time, mobile and highly precise. This creates a holistic view of movement that supports physicians, therapists and patients alike.

Rethinking movement analysis

The GAMMA Workshop 2025 sent a strong signal for the future of clinical movement analysis—and for the role of innovative technologies such as stappone.
“It was an inspiring exchange and a highly successful workshop,” concludes CEO Peter Krimmer.
