Insights into Modern Gait Analysis
Visit to Limbic 8 in Tyrol
stappone visited Mario Neuner at his physiotherapy practice Limbic 8; an appointment focused on modern gait analysis and the practical application of digital technologies.
Introduction to the New App and Measurement Process
The visit centered on an introduction to the new stappone app. Together, the complete measurement process was reviewed step by step: from preparation and execution to the evaluation of the collected data. It became clear how intuitively the application can be integrated into everyday clinical practice while delivering detailed, objective results.
Detailed Analysis of Gait Parameters
A particular focus was placed on interpreting the recorded gait parameters. These included, among others:
- foot pressure distribution,
- loading of the forefoot and rearfoot, and
- the rollover line.
In addition, the cyclogram used to visualize the body’s center of mass was analyzed, providing valuable insights into movement dynamics. Parameters related to gait stability were also discussed in detail, including:
- double support phase,
- stride length,
- cadence, and
- the ratio of swing phase to stance phase.
These metrics enable a differentiated assessment of gait patterns and form a solid basis for therapeutic decision-making.
Versatile Applications of the Insoles
Alongside the analysis, attention was given to the wide range of applications for the sensor-based insoles. These extend from precise diagnostics and therapy support to prevention and progress monitoring. Discussions explored how these technologies can be strategically integrated into existing treatment concepts to provide more individualized patient care.
Update and Practical Testing
The visit concluded with a firmware update, bringing the systems up to date, followed by a test measurement. This allowed the new features to be tried and evaluated directly under real-world conditions.
Digitalization Meets Practice
The exchange with Mario Neuner once again demonstrated the significant potential of digital solutions in physiotherapy, especially when technology and practical experience go hand in hand.
