Effective treatment for supination trauma with stappone sensor soles

Physiotherapist is using stappone sensor soles

A supination trauma is one of the most common ankle injuries in popular sports and everyday life. As soon as temperatures rise, practicing outdoor sports such as tennis and jogging is becoming more frequent – and with this, unfortunately, injuries such as supination traumas. These occur when the ankle’s ligaments are injured by the foot twisting over its outer edge. This can lead to hyperextension or torn ligaments – in the worst case combined with bone injuries. With STAPPONE Physio rehabilitation becomes more effective than ever.

What is STAPPONE Physio?

STAPPONE Physio consists of the intelligent stappone sensor soles and the corresponding visualization software. The sensor soles are simply inserted into comfortable shoes (e.g. sports shoes) and show the patient’s plantar pressure distribution. The software provides a visual live-biofeedback on the pressure distribution of the foot as well as other movement-relevant parameters such as stride length and cadence.

Live-biofeedback and objective data enable effective rehabilitation after a supination trauma.

Patients who need to relearn the correct physiological loading of the leg or walking itself after injuries receive direct visual feedback through the live displayed pressure distribution – this motivates and empowers patients during their therapy.
