Haemophilia is a hereditary disease in which blood clotting is disturbed. Among other things, this leads to spontaneous bleeding in the locomotor system. Therefore, gait analysis and observation of movement patterns in haemophilia patients is of great importance. With the intelligent stappone sensor sole, this is exactly what is now possible. Haemophilia patients can be accompanied and supported in their therapy regardless of location and in a resource-saving manner.<\/p>\n

Patients with haemorrhagic\u00a0diathesis, such as haemophilia\u00a0A and B,\u00a0often\u00a0develop\u00a0spontaneous bleeding, especially in the locomotor system. It also occurs from\u00a0time\u00a0to\u00a0time\u00a0in younger years in patients with the disease,\u00a0especially during\u00a0sporting\u00a0activities.\u00a0Since up to 80%-90% of bleeding occurs\u00a0in the muscular\u00a0system and joint bleeding (synovial\u00a0fluid), it is important to\u00a0regularly analyse or observe\u00a0the musculoskeletal system in\u00a0haemophilia.\u00a0S\u00e9bastien\u00a0Lobet\u00a0says:<\/p>\n

\u201eAlthough brain\u00a0haemorrhage\u00a0and bleeding into internal organs represent major threats to the life of PWH, approximately 80%\u201390% of bleeding episodes occur in the musculoskeletal (MSK) system, especially in the large synovial joints, as well as in the muscles, thus constituting the principal health problem. This induces progressive cartilage damage, leading to joint destruction and subsequent severe functional\u00a0limitation.\u201c\u00b9<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Due to the speed of movements,\u00a0simple\u00a0direct observation is\u00a0often\u00a0not sufficient to\u00a0gain\u00a0insight into the movement pattern\u00a0or to\u00a0determine\u00a0the biomechanical causes of\u00a0gait abnormalities\u00a0in humans.\u00a0With\u00a0stapp\u200aone\u00a0even\u00a0minimal\u00a0changes\u00a0can\u00a0now be\u00a0visibly\u00a0shown, which\u00a0may\u00a0have effects on the entire musculoskeletal system.<\/p>\n
